Mill's - Assessed Values & Appraised Values
The Public Political Forums all start with the Mayor followed by John
Mendez saying that the City is fine, dandy and going in the right direction!
Taxes are going DOWN and have for the past 5 years, Appraisals are right and
Assessed Values are in line with the Country?
I speak next, saying that people I talk with, while signing my petitions, differ
greatly..........
People are pissed about high taxes, high appraisals and rude City people at
appraisal protests. One Elderly Woman, cute as a bug, said these as*h***s might
as well have a gun, they rob us at these appraisal offices.
Needless to say people are signing the new petitions to have a Grand Jury Investigate
taxations and appraisals?
Wyandotte County is losing population to our neighboring cities. Less population
means more taxes we all share to fund our City. We continue to give $ millions
in tax abatements to any and all like Wal-Mart etc., thus leaving we few taxpayers
to fund the full burden. People Overland Park, due south, pays an 8.6 mill levy
while we pay 40.8 some 4 times higher. Population in Overland Park has grown
87 thousand since 1980 while KCK lost 19 thousand.
We must become competitive with our neighbors; we must stop all give-away projects
and cut City spending. Our little City is $2.6 billion in debt and Dennis Hays
has got to stop trying to spend our way out of debt. If you have debt on your
credit card, spending more will not lower that debt? Spending more will increase
the amount of interest you pay next month, resulting in less money going to
the principal amount you owe. Credit card companies like it when you pay only
interest – it means you’ll pay forever and your balance will never
go down unless you re-finance to pay your credit card debt. Re-financing cost
$ money!
Our City KCK is in this same mess and has ran on credit for 20 years; the debt
owed is so high that our interest payment is about $15 million a month or around
$181 million a year. Our City, for the last 20 years has re-finance the debt
with a Bonding Agent Mr. Rick Worner who gets about 5 or 6% every time the city
re-finances to the approximated tune of $13 million a pop twice a year. Mr.
Worner reportedly lives in Overland Park, Reno Nevada, and has a huge house
in Hawaii etc? This great opportunity is made available by taxpayers like you
and me and it is all directed by Dennis Hays the County Administrator who makes
a 6-figure income and is becoming well known in Hawaii.
Please! Enough is enough John Mendez was the assistant County Administrator
for years with Dennis Hays and we don't need another tag team to deal with spending
(only) our money, do we? Vote Reardon - Vote Reform before it's to late!
